In cases where some video clips lack adequate handles for transition application, DaVinci Resolve may suggest trimming the videos. Essentially, make sure the cut isn't happening on the very first/last frame of a clip. Scoot it over 10-15 frames to give the transition room to work. If there is enough extra length, it's probably a bug and I would try placing the transition where it's wanting it to go and then try changing where the transition starts up in the inspector.

Now that I'm using resolve, I just select the clip I want to loop, Ctrl + C, then I put the play-head at the end of the clip, and then press Ctrl + V as many times as I want.
